No way are you going to fit an AC unit in that, better to condition the room it's in.
If the room temp is okay but the inside the tent is too hot, increase your intake/exhaust speed to bring the tent temp closer to the room temp

I've been using Perfect Aire brand mini splits, their 3-ton DIY unit is a beast, I used to maintain a room with 8 x 1000w Double-Ended HPS with it.
Are you saying your room is 2.5 ft wide by 2.5 ft wide?? I don't think any mini-split would be suitable for that small of a space. Assuming you're in a closet maybe install a mini-split into the adjoining room to keep things cool, you should be able to get away with an 8,000-12,000 BTU unit. MRCOOL, Perfect Aire are good units if you want to stay stealth and install by yourself.
One thing I learned is always get a little bigger than you think you need so it doesn't run as much, your power bill will reflect equipment that runs constantly.
