COB Question

Hello RIU family! I just purchased and waiting for my timber 2vl and now waiting for it to get to me.

I have a 2x2 and I want to keep my grow at 150w during flower.

I was wondering if I can use one of those wall outlet readers to dim it exactly to 150w on the reader. I am not sure if that works with cob or not sorry for the noob question.

Below is an example of the reader

Just dial it about 3/4. Put a thermometer or weather station or whatever in the tent and dial in the heat. It is easy to adjust so you can do it until you get it right.

To start run it way less anyway. Seedlings don't need much. Dial it up as you go and watch the heat and you will be fine. I LOVE my 2VL

Wow those are cheap. I bought one myself and now i can see what my 4 x 4 is actually pulling when everything is running :)

Thank you my dude! Is there like a bar graph on the dimmer?

If there were a dial gauge i could never see it. I just spin it around it goes about 360 and then go back a bit. I had to goof around with it in my 1 1/2 x 3 foot tent to get the temp to around 85. Full blast it was in the 90s.

Next round (aug 1) I am running a 135 quantum board in the 1 1/2 x 3 and a 315 cob and 2VL in the 4 x 4. When i am done vegging in the small tent that quantum can go in the 4 x 4 too. Lets see what it can do :D

And that kill a watt will help me to dial it in to 500 watts (300 + 200 + 135 is too hot)

I know I have to have the cob 2vl set to 150w for flower but what about the seedling stage and then the wattage for veg stage? Sorry for the many questions.

I use a PAR meter to set my fixture height and power levels on my 4 vero arrays. I have found that @ 150W they will give me a un iform 300-400 umole/m2/s and when I crank them up ton 320W it will give me 800-1000 umole @ 14". This fixture sits ove a row of 4 RDWC buckets~ 10 sq ft.

Since you have the 2vl i want to get your input. I know I have to have the cob 2vl set to 150w for flower but what about the seedling stage and then the wattage for veg stage? Sorry for the many questions.

For seedling like 50. I use a mars hydro at 65 watts to start them.

When they are around second node turn it up. You can run 150 in veg. Just look for signs of heat stress and adjust.

Seedlimgs are often started with cfl. Make sure you have a clip fan or fan blowing on them. It makes the stalk stronger.
