It has to have a solonoid valve that plugs into the co2 monitor, so the monitor can turn on and off the valve automatically. Look at the ones that CAP make, and make sure they look similar. The monitor will have it's main power on all the time, and a second power that has a piggy back plug that is on your powerstip that only turns on your gear during the lights on time. You don't want to push co2 into the room during dark periods, they don't "eat" the co2 in the dark, only when lights on. A 20lb tank doesn't last that long unless the room or tent is small. I use 50lbs in 5 days for a 24 plant flower room that is 8x14x7.5.
You can save a lot of money by going to your local welding supply company to refill your tank. The hydro stores that you can get filled tanks make a good penny for the "convenience" of them going to the welding store for you. Mine costs $23 to refill 50lbs, the stores cost over $30 for 20lbs here. It adds up.
