Co2 Generator- Just a pilot light?

Are those Co2 generatoirs I see being sold for 400-700 dollars just a pilot light or group of pilot lights? If so then there's gotta be a much cheaper DIY option out there.

That is a very good point. You would think converting one of these $19.00 units would be easy. They already come with a thermocouple. Add and electric start and BAM! Cheap CO2.

I bought a heater for camping that is powered by propane. It cost me 40 dollars. and it has a pilot light on it that comes on first before i'm suppose to turn it to the heater. so i was thinking of just using this device for my CO2 generator. if you guys want picks I can post them.
