cloning?

i cut some clones off of a mother plant a week or so ago and no roots yet how long does this usually take? i am using root tech cloning gel and rock wool cubes about 1.5"x1.5" is there something im doing wrong or not doing i have them on an 18/6 under cfl should i move them to the metal halide?

Mine usually take 3 weeks or so just dumped in plain old water...

2-3 weeks if done properly, even sooner, done improperly a month. If you mist them, it takes much longer, than leaving the dome closed and humidity at 90%, temp in 70's. Keep dome lid closed, water when completely dry, roots will be present at rewatering and done before it needs to be watered again (once a week max)

i see roots any where between 12 and 18 days.

Yeah, mine usually take at least 2 weeks.

If the clones have been in rockwool cubes for more than a week give them a gentle tug if the plant feels has though it has taken hold it will be fine to get under more power the root system may take time to show but has long has it has taken hold you can get them under the metal halide.but when testing be careful not to pull them out,they will take hold within a week the roots may not show but if there is a root system there get it in soil/hydrophonics this will get the root system through far faster then waiting.if the clone is going in soil give a realy good soaking when you first plant then allow to dry test the top 3 ince if that is dry then re~water.if the clones havent taken in 7 /14 days something is wrong always take a few extra clones then you can take out the front runner and ditch the donkys.you can clone without a rooting compound but it's about getting the plants vegged/flowered smoked use rooting gel/powder to stimulate the roots to grow faster and make sure that you get the water you are feeding the clones right i use water with a drop of multithrive to every litre of water ph of around 5.0/5.5 make sure the leaves are sprayed at least 2 times a day till roots take hold.a propagator is also key to good cloneing keep the vents closed for the first 24 hours then have them a little open just a tad so a little fresh air can get in and airate the clones.when you put the clones into the cubes make a hole at a angle so the roots have less disstance to travel they will grow through the side of the cube to begin with.don't worry if the clones look has though they are growing sideways they will grow upwards once under light for a few days.good luck and happy cloneing dude.
