Cloning via reveg

I've got a plant that was started outdoors, the genetics are pretty good and it's got a lot of qualities that I'd love to base an entire grow op around. The problem is that, as I said, was started outdoors, late in the season. By the time the friend who planted it gave it to me to save, it was already budding. I'd like to clone it, but it's only about 12" high and no side branches. I'm wondering if I'd be able to reveg this and then clip clones from it? And the second part, If I've got a plant that's been pollenated, and I go to reveg/clone, will the clones maintain the original genetics, or does the pollen have the ability to change the sex?

After it has re-vegged (18/6, 20/4 24/0 etc.), and filled out a bit (maybe 2-3 weeks?) you will be able to clone it with no problem. The clones will still be the same as the mother, even if she may have been pollinated.

Yes you can re-veg and take clones. Don't panic when your re-veg looks a little Frankenstein at first. They can grow ugly for a bit, but will straighten out.

Thank you! That is so freakin awesome. Maybe I had read it wrong, but someone had given me the impression that reveg'd plants nearly always end up turning hermaphrodite. But I had read about revegging in Ed Rosenthal's and other books, so I was confused. Thanks again!

A plant that has been stressed by re-vegging is not prone to hermieing however.....Marijuana is an annual plant meaning it has a natural cycle controlled by light that tells it to produce seeds as death is near. We keep them from reproducing which stalls the process just prior to seed formation by not introducing pollen. These are chemical changes signaled by the light cycle that are unnatural to reverse and that reversal can on rare occasions cause that particular clone taken from the revegged mother to hermie. Just keep an eye on them and carry on. :)
