I wanted to bounce something off you guys cause i need some urgent help at the moment. ive overlooked SUCH a key element of this "perpetual" grow i have set-up..

have you ever heard of starting a clone under 12/12? but thats not all..

taking a cutting from a plant who is in 12/12 and then also starting that clone under 12/12. this isnt going to work is it? i JUST realized this last night. smh. im fucked. because i have 2 different rooms (6400k t-5's day 0-10 and 250w HPS day 10+) but i cant have my lights on different schedules, as they are not independent from each others light. only the outside light from my room. and they never can be either because of positioning and also the ducting that leads from one to the other carries light as well. i dont know what im going to do. lol. i might be forced to starting seeds every month. thats gonna be really expensive : / .. and risky getting strong plants.

UNLESS there is no problem w this method and everything will work out. im just almost certain and really afraid that the clone will die at the same age as the donor and yield absolutely nothing if on this photo-period. perhaps if i take clones really really early i can get around this but im not sure. im really interested to hear any feedback on this?

You need to find a way to have a cloning area that receives at least 18hrs of mild light a day. Or as you already mentioned you will just have to do 12/12 from seed for a perpetual grow.

I routinely take clones from donors who have been vegging a week or less. More than 10 days or so
and I can't hardly get them to root.

When it comes to space you need to be creative. My 400W "veg room" is actually half a closet. So
you need a second timer and another designated space.

Good luck, BigSteve.

i ve done 12-12 from ESTABLISHED clon they stay real small but to get them rooting MUST be 18-6 blue spec

you can take clones and root them under 12/12. the problem with this is they are already "matured" and will flower. you will end up with a tinly little plant with hardly any bud on it.

as the other people said, you need a veg room and a flower room both on different schedules so that you can cut the clones let them root and then allow them to veg to your desired height. you need to keep in mind that even with a top of the line cloning system you wont see any roots for at least 1 week and usually on the norm its about 2 weeks, then after that its another week for the plant to get situated in its new pot wether it be hydro or soil your not going to see new growth for around 3 weeks. so in order to setup a sucessfull perpetual you need to keep taking them clones @ the time increments you wish to harvest (i.e take clones every month for a harvest every month) but yeah they key to the sucess of your operation is going to be different lighting schedules, which im sure is possible. you dont need a fancy tent for clones and vegging plants, and also always try and take your clones from a plant that has not started the flowering cycle yet to cut down on time, otherwise you will be another 1-2 weeks to allow the plant to reveg. if you dont mind waiting a bit though revegged plants (taking a plant with developed calyx's (buds) and puting it back into a vegatative light schedule) will actually give you a more bushy and robust plant in the long run, this wont effect your 1 month harvest schedule but it will take longer to get to a harvest every month.

good luck

Yeah you dont wanna do that, clone em under anything from 18/6 to 24/7 anything different might trigger flowering depending on strain.
I did exactly what you asked if it where possible, and it will root but itll bud at the same time resulting in a very tiny bud once fully rooted.
Putting a seed under 12/12 will work fine but it depends on the strain, some plants will bud faster then others.
Cannabis comes from equator areas i think, they flower for a full 3 months which is like 1 month of veg/flower. Sativa is what you are looking for

There are 2 ways to have a perpetual grow.

1). Turn the timer to 20/4 and buy a bunch of feminized AUTOS. Sit back and watch, no changing the timer or light.
Autos grow at 20/4 from start to finish so they couldn't be easier.
2). Like most of us -- you need 2 seperate rooms - one to veg and one to flower. A seperate room has it's own timer
and is independent from any other room. Sounds like you have one operating room and one that mirrors the first.
So do the right thing, invest a few more dollars so you have 2 seperate rooms. Eventually you'll figure out like I did
that 3 rooms are even better.

Deciding to do a perpetual grow is a commitment, bro. It is a ton of work.

BigSteve.
