cloning question

So i have a few plants which are from some seeds I purchased online. They are 7 weeks from seed and I want to take clones soon. My question is...If i cut the clones and then put the mothers/fathers into flower, will the clones be the same sex as the plant they were cut from or are there factors which may cause them to change sex??

Are you positve these plants are female. If not it would be a waste to clone a male plant. Wait until you are sure about the sex before cloning. When sure, clone when the plant has at least 4 nodes.:peace:

No, I do not know the sex of the plants. My whole point is to get a few good mothers that i can use for clones in the future. I don't want to start flowering the plants before I clone because that just adds extra stress on the little babies going back under 24 hrs. What I want to do is cut clones from all the plants but keep them separated accordingly. Then put the plants into flower and keep the clones in a separate veg box. After sexing, I will know which clones came from which plants and will thro out the male plants and clones. I am assuming the clones will be the same sex as the plants they were cut from, but don't know for sure. Is this true??

You could do that, however you would save a second cloning if you just took them a week before you flowered them. That way you should know for sure they are all female if you are flowering them right.:peace:

If it were me I would put them into flower and when the pre flowers show then take my clones. What strain are you growing? It does stress the plant to put it back into veg after it has flowered for a short time but nothing it cant recover from.

I have some Big Bud and Thai right now. I'm not sure what I'm going to do for sure...thanks for the advice. But really my whole question that I have is...Will the clones cut from a plant be the same sex??

Thanks. Thats what I thought, but wasn't sure if factors such as humidity, temp, etc. would cause them to change.
