When cloning, do absolutely have to use a root stimulant for the clone I plant? Would it sprout roots without the stimulator?

Your chances of getting the cuttings to root will be far greater with a rooting stimulant. Try one of the powders instead of the gels. The gels go bad after a time if you store them too long. I've been using the say container of powder for years now.

i agree. yu can get the powder at lowes.. ive tried it in just plain water and the cutting started to mildew almost..

This is going to depend on what cloning method you plan on using. If DWC or aero, then no, you don't need the gel or powder.
