No not necessarily. I have four seeds in my cabinet. I do not know of they are female or not. I want to sex them, take some clones and start again. My cabinet has two chambers so I want to Veg, and raise babies in one and flower in the other and want to be able to do this as soon as I can determine a female. Here, have a look at what I am dealing with for a set up and the perhaps offer some advice.
Ok if your going to use seeds this is what your suppose to do....... Seed your 4 seeds and let them grow tell you can tell which are female .. Lets say you got 3 females and 1 male out of your 4 plants you toss the male and now your left with 3 female FIRST generation plants in veg stage..... Let them grow tell a week before you plan to flower them, then number all 3 plants 1 -3 so you have 3 plants each with its own number.....Now Take clone cuttings of each plant and number the clones with the corrispanding plant so if you take cuttings from plant #1 then all those cutting will be labeled #1 and so on tell you have took cuttings from all 3 plants and labeled all cuttings with corrisponding plants .....Now once you have done this you will have 3 lady plants ready for flowering and you will have a bunch of clones taken from each plant all labeled with there corrisponding #

Next you let your 3 plants flower tell there Ripe and ready......Lets say plant #2 yielded the best out of the 3 plants you grew from seed... that means plant #2 is the mother plant you want for her genetics....So then you go to your cuttings and grab all the cuttings labeled #2. Pick the Two healthest #2 cuttings which by this time they will be teenagers and ready to be used as your mother plant. now you clone cuttings from these two plants they are the same genetics as the plant #2 that flowered the best.....If your not going to find out which seed is going to provide you with the best mother plant then you are just wasting money and your better off just going out and buying a clone and cloning that clone instead of buying seeds.......Seeds are for people who want to find the BEST mother plant with the best genetics for there clone harvesting operation.

This is not really something a "newbie" usually attemps on there first grow........What you are trying to do will be alot harder then just growing one cycle at a time...further more not only will you have a hard time trying to dial your perpetual grow but you will most likely have a hard time with everything else i mentioned above........I can do exactly what i just told yu and i DONT why dont i?? cause its a pain thats why id rather just go buy some clones for 10 bucks a cutting at the local Despensary.......
Gotta look at the big picture....ya its cheaper to make your own clones but how many clones a year do you actually use?? do you need enough clones a year to warrent the cost of housing , feeding , lighting, a couple mother plants all year around ?? Not me i only grow 9 plants at a time 3 times a year ill spend more on Pg&e and nutes keeping my mother alive then i will just buying them ...Now if i where to clone hunderds of clones a year hell if were to clone even 50 clones a year i would get some seeds and find me a mother plant with nice genetics but i dont so for me its not really worth the effert really...
Since your grow is SO small i dont really see the need to go do all what i just stated but if you really want to use your seeds thats what you should do with them not just pick the first female and clone it that would be newbish move.........
Ok but if you do want to find a mother plant just rmember it will take you 3 months just to figure out which seed is going to be your mother plant then from here you will have to start your grow cycle for real...and you have a place for your veg and flower but you have no place for your mother.....
