Cloning Question in Veg Room

Going to throw about fifty cuts in a Humidity Dome tomorrow in my veg room. Problem is, I'm having a hard time keeping my room warm with the lights out - running a dehumidifier but we're still getting 66-67 degrees in there.

I have a mini little heater I can throw in there when the lights are out if needed. Do you guys think that's stunting my plants when it gets that cold in there? Will it effect the rate of growth for cuts?

I've read clones like a stable climate and not a ton of change... what do you guys reccomend?

My little heater is only a 600 watt space heater, but I think it could fill the room at least raise that up to closer to 70 without too much problems.

what ya think

CONSISTANCY............... KEY WORD, as im sure you know ideal temp is around 26-27 degree celcius.

I'm not sure I can get my room to 78 with the lights off... maybe I'm better off in a closet with the space heater? I will be using a heating pad to keep the roots nice and warm, but that isn't enough?

as long as you have a heat pad under the dome it should be enough to keep them warm and get the humidity up in the dome. no worries about that now... when you transplant you should probly figure out some way to raise the temp to a constant 75-80 degrees. it will stunt the growth if it gets any lower but shouldnt do too much for now. just get it up a few more degrees and your cuttings should be fine.

well its all on the strain, because i used a heating pad (from my water bed) and i put it at about 78-80 and the room itself was at 68 constantly so i thought id leave it that high. and it did just fine. now i have 39 clones doing very well. it was 40 but i saw a shroom growing out of the rooter cube so i immediately threw it away. i dont wanna risk any fungi growing

so you think just leave it in the veg room in an area that gets very indirect light from the 1000\600 watters?

if not, i can buy a cfl and keep them in my bathroom with a space heater...i'm guessing i could get closer to that constant 78-81 degrees we're lookin for here.

the dome alone I would think would raise the temp in the dome, weather or not it'd be enough to raise the temp from 66 (lights off in flowering chamber) to 78 inside the dome i'm not sure.

OPen as little as possible to hold in heat and humidity..... and its own light source will always be better.

yeah i uses 1 24'' warm air bulb and a 1 24'' cold air bulb and i kept it almost 2'' above the dome itself its ganna need the light for development. also try to keep the humidity between 60 and 80% thats what i did. also make sure you cut the leaves in half. so it can absorb water threw the cuts and help promote growth for roots and a new set

Right now they will get 12 hours of darkness and then a bit of light through the window... I'll likely just grab a cfl I can clamp right above the dome and use for three to four days. After that the mother chamber will be done and they can go on the floor.

Having a hard time testing relative humidity. My censor is like 3 inches by 4 inches with remote access, but no room in the dome to put her in there. I should look into one of those tiny ones... just a small little stick.

The directions on the pad say it raises the temp about 10-12 degrees inside a dome. I have a towel in between the tray and pad so the cubes don't dry out too quickly... I bet we're runnin around 75-79 in there right now.

My pad has no temperature adjustment on it, I figure I can just throw down a few towels in between the pad and tray if needed, or remove the towel accordingly. Course my problem is I can't really test it right now but I'll be working on there. Could tape the sensor in the dome for a little while.

On a side note, I cut the SHIT OUTTA MYSELF cutting clones. All good though, it's such a relief to be doing this on my own for the first time... no more relying on anyone else for anything! To any newbies out there, figure out a way to mother your own plants and take your own cuts... the more you have in your control the better in this game.

taped the sensor inside the dome... its been in there for about 45 minutes now. i of course let the heat escape when i took the dome off to tape the sensor to it but right now i'm reading 75% r\h and 67 (but rising) temp farenheit. my ambient temp is 66 so if the heating pad is doing what it said it would, that should get raise a solid 10-15 degrees to get the optimal 79 or so degrees for rooting.

do they just go slower if the temp is too cool? i cant imagine that with the heating pad the temps when the dome hasn't been taken off for a while being lower than 75-77 degrees.

not exactly sure why it's not warmer in there, the heating pad is supposed to raise the temp 10-20 degrees it says.

my house is no cooler than 67 like ever... it should be closer to 80 than not in that dome!

yeah the sensor is digital it's a pretty good one I thought?

paid like a bill for the remote thingy...seems to work just fine usually.

perhaps this heating pad just is bunk? it makes no sense that it wouldn't raise the temps at least 8-15 degrees... right now it's raising it a whole one degree inside the dome.

Buy an Ezclone they are Bomb! I have the 30 site and I have it sitting under a t-5 8 tube sun blaze with only 4 bulbs on and next to it another 8 tube going full bore for my veg plants and room temp has been about 70-75 and hum 37% in the room but in the dark in the box its another story;-)

looks nice, gonna try it with just the rapid rooters inside the humidity dome for now but maybe ill grab one of those down the line

i bought a thermostat for my heating mat, clones are chilling warm and styley in there now! have the therm set for 79 degrees.

how do you know how humid it is in there? today is their first full day i figure i'll give em a spray tonite before bed.

IMO, make a clone box or something with some cfls... make the box compact-ass if u want the temp to rise... and u dont HAVE to turn off the lights man, if u can keep em turned on for 24 hours, thats what i do, atleast :)

Cloning is currently being done outside of the main room for various reasons. My temps are fine with the heating pad thermostat...thanks though.

I always run my veg time at 18\6 because it wastes a ton of energy if not... and the plants in my experience do benefit from having that six hours of relaxation.
