Cloning outdoor plants, good idea?

So one of my seeds didn't germinate and I couldn't find it (should've germinated in a cup lol) and now I have a good spot with a fishing line fence and good soil that's not growing anything. Once one of my other plants get big, should I try and cut off a branch and grow it in the area mentioned above? Would this give me more bud? Or just stress out the plant I take the branch from.

Thanks for the help

Yes, it would give you more bud. It does no more harm to the plant that topping would. Take a cut and see if you can grow roots.

You may want to make sure the plant you are cloning from is a female. You might want to research how to tell whether a young plant is male or female while your current plants are growing. Could you save you some time down the road. Good luck.
