Cloning in compost pile

Hello forum, I need a little advice on this experimental cloning process. I took cuttings from a plant I'm growing outside, stuck them into my compost pile, covered them with water bottles and left them for a week. I took the bottles off two days ago and they are still standing and green. Do you think they may have rooted? Appreciate any opinions. The one plant is where I got the cuttings.

Agree your compost may be too hot but it's a cool experiment. If they are still green something may be going on there. I would also wait a few weeks and check again.

I did this on accident last year. Was pruning a plant and threw the clippings in my compost pile. Several weeks later while turning the pile, I noticed one of the cuttings had rooted. Replanted it and it grew into a beautiful plant

I got the idea when some seeds sprouted out of my compost pile. Hope they root, that would save some time.
