Clones

So the right way to take clones is to cut by the leaves of a branch then to snip of the leaves and dip it in rooting gel so where the branches ounce where roots will grow out much faster...... What if I already snipped of the leaves week before I took the cutting? Does it matter? Would it still root from where the leaves ounce where?

It should be fine, the scar tissue that healed over is just going to be stripped off and coated in arooting hormone anyway.
