usually the cut tips are to prevent more burning on the tips of the leaves, atleast thats what i hear
i just got my clones about 3days ago so im right there with you, and i will be using a 600w also, i have 2 more 600's waiting for flowering
I cut HUGE clones with 2 or 3 branch sets ... i only trimmed the leaves that were going to be bent up against the domes.
they rooted normally and then had very quick growth due to all of the leaves still being on them. (No heating mats, just room temp of 70-78.)
I prefer bigger clones aswell so I wasnt impressed with the ones I got.
How tall are the clones you cut?
I have just never seen it so I thought it was interesting. I would think as someone said earlier that unless the leaves are showing signs of yellowing or burning tips they should be left alone.
Thanks for the reply to my question
This will be interesting coz I too just got some clones and we use 600 watt lights aswell so it will be good to watch each others progress. I will post a grow diary and many pics so it will be good to see you both do the same.
bterz and sonomacoma what will you be growing in (soil, rockwool, coco etc?
i think the clones look great keep it up.....sonomacoma he cut the tips of the plant to promote root growth not to stop the tips from burning
