Clones root and then stall, how to go from clone to plant

Hey guys

I was using the bubble clone method and having great success for a while, until the slime showed up. From that day on not a single clone rooted using that method.

After dealing with the slime in the rest of my system, I was ready to clone again. I chose to clone in rockwool this time so that the slime wouldn't be a factor.

Now my clones pop roots in 5-10 days as they should, and the roots grow an inch or so out of the cube looking white and lovely...and then stop. Days go by and the roots just sit there and eventually get ever so slightly discolored and a tiny tiny bit shrivled/dry looking.

I have tried keeping the cubes in the dome, with and without the lid, they just sit there. I have tried putting them in the netpots and into my DWC tub, so that little bits of water get splashed on them from the bubbles. When I do this it almost seems as if they are staying too wet, and the roots again just sit there.

While they are waiting to root the clones stay green and perky, then they root and then the roots stall, and the clones turn yellow and droopy. This is happening with all my strains which are, trainwreck, nightshade and cheese.

Before the slime showed up, in my bubble cloner, I would wait for the roots to get 5 or 6 inches long, put them in netpots in the dwc tub, and they would take right off.

I am feeding them with dutch master APS and a half strength application of roots excelurator. (taking it easy on the roots excel for fear the the slime returning) I realize if I would transplant these in to a bigger cube or even soil they would probably take off, but that is not my method of growing. Anyone got any tips or should i just keep at it till things 'click'?

no food when rooting---trim back roots to bush roots like you do on top for bushy plants. I would say the food is the issue/

Only food I use is dutch master APS, which is a foliage spray designed specifically for clones, and only after the roots pop. Next batch I will drop the food and see if it helps. Thanks.

Follow up....

I gave up on DWC, sadly after several successful harvests, because of the sudden slime issue. I tried coco at first, and after a couple days I had white fuzzy mold growing all through it, and it smelt like sour milk. From there I went to rockwool/hydroton, and the results are great. Even though I still use a recirculating ebb and flow, the slime doesn't seem to be an issue as long as the roots aren't constantly bathed in water.

Oh, and I dumped the roots excel permanently. Im sure it's a great product and works for many people, but it gave me nothing but problems.

Are the roots getting light.Or the water

Nah, If anything I went overboard with light proofing. Also have a 950gph air pump with multiple 4ft flex air diffusers and keep the res chilled. Tried sterilizing products for a while and then tried beneficial microbes, none of it worked out for me.
