Clones have thrips

Was offered clones. Saw they had thrips. How do thrips infest? Can I take some clones off the clones without issue? Obviously making sure the clones dont have live bugs. But do they put eggs in the soil or on leaves?

The strain smells solid and Id like to add it to my collection but not at thr cost of adding an infestation.

Thrips are easy. Just hunt and squish them daily for a while and you'll get rid of them. I've had them my whole grow and barely find any now. 27 plants to go thru every day for the first few weeks of flowering but now I'll check every few days and only find 3 or 4. They live in the canopy and lay their eggs on the undersides of the leaves. Tend to feed on top and if light coloured like mine easy to spot.

You can spray with something simple like Safer's End All II or even just the soap and that'll do it.

Just keep them away from your other plants until you're sure the bugs are gone. I got my thrips from gifted clones too. lol

Good luck!

I ended up passing. He said he had like 1500 ladybugs on the way as he thought he had fungus gnats.

Ill take em once the lady bugs eat them.

I was squishing the ones I saw on the leaves but wasnt sure their life cycle. If eggs were on the leaves or the coco.

With 1500 clones to debug I'd want some help too. :)

Between thrips, gnats or mites I'll take thrips any day. The most I ever found on them in one sitting was 30 and I hate spraying ever if I don't have to. And there's something to be said about getting up front and personal with the enemy. :D

Even after the ladybugs are done I'd keep them isolated for a week at least and check every day.

:peace:
