I'v heard a couple people say that bud rot is an issue if you take clones from plants while they are flowering. Is this true? If so why.

This IS True, But only if the clone itself has some buds on it, the reason they are prone to bud rot is simply because of the fact that most people put clones in a humidity dome or other High humidity environment to prevent the clone from drying out too fast from transpiration while they are developing roots.
Although Chances are if your cloning from a flowering plant it will be early enough in flowering that there wont really be any buds to rot.

So if you clone a flowering plant and reveg it, you should be just fine.

If you do get bud rot before roots have formed, will it kill the plant or can you pluck the bud before you put it in the cloning chamber?
