Clone vs S1

My experiences with S1s are limited to a handful of plants over many years that threw some late nanners and I found a handful of seeds in themselves later. They were all at different times and I never found seeds in any of my other plants at the time so I do believe they should have been "S1" seeds. Anytime I have grown out those seeds they have been almost nothing like the parent. Sometimes they will share one trait, but they've never been close to the same.

With regards to clones, I grew a SOG garden for over 10 years straight. I used clones that whole time, some strains I was able to keep for 5+ years with them performing identically to the original. Others I grew for 2-4 years before they started to deteriorate. I can tell you for a fact the ones that started to fail were BECAUSE OF ME. Each of those plants had some sort of extreme stress event and never recovered. Every other clone I've grown over the years has maintained its vigor, structure, and potency as long as I kept them healthy.

I've grown thousands of clones at this point and it's definitely my preferred method of retaining specific genetics for the immediate future. Seeds are obviously the best long-term option if you don't plan on utilizing the genetics anytime soon though.
