Clone question....

Hey all. I would like to know if there is a particular technique or what would be the best way to keep a clone short. At least shorter than 2 feet and I am using a hydro method for my clones and would like to keep them real short for the duration of veggin and flowering. All comments are welcome... thanks for taking the time to read this and helping a lady out!

I wish I had a great answer for you. I know other people will have specific suggestions. But getting a plant that is designed to be short will def help. Prob going to be an indica, short stuff or something. Having genetics that keep it short will factor in as much or more than any lighting tricks you can use.

No.1, you would need squat genetics. I would also recommend a super bright H.O T-5 flourecent. Keep the H.O T-5 fight close to the tops. I notice short node spaces with good High Output flouros.

Thank LGA, I thought about dwarfs, but I was also hoping for a great yield despite the fact I have limited space.

Thank you SNS... I thought about that as well. Would you know of a particular type that would have the right squat genetics?



What ever I decide to do I want to be able to do it right the first time around and I so appreciate your responses

I will give it a try... I am gonna look it up now. Have your grown it before? and if so was it a decent yield?

Ive got close friend that do. I see them all of the time. Go to Attitude and order Fem. seeds for abolut a 100. There produce an average ounce to two ounces a peice. They have a photoperiopd so there not autiflower, however they are dwarfs. from seed to harvest in bout 60-65 days. Lots of resin.

veg for less than a week, it'll still fill out. bend the plant to keep it shorter. and doesnt hurt havin a genetically short plant

you can top the plant (trim the main stem(s) growth tips. This will send hormones to the lower branches and stimulate growth there. You can grow a squattier bush that way but I would suggest starting with a crop that grows bushy and not super tall to begin with. I guess you have two choices if you try. you can just try to force flower a short bushy strain real early or you can try and prune the growth tips of all the main stems. I hope you are using LED's or Flourscents, otherwise you are gonna have a hell of a time managing the heat and fresh air.

Umm sounds good. I looked up the white berry and it sounds good. We have done dwarfs before and they were autoflower, but I dont think hubby was to fond of them. I am not sure as to why tho.

Thanks Keeger. As per SNS recommendations, he has gotten me researching genetics within different strains. My Hubby and friend usually research and try different strains when they purchase. We loved our last grow of BB's and NL's but now were looking into something totally different. I didnt think about bending the plant tho. Wondering if I can bend it into the ring formation as it grows? Cant think of the actual techniques name... but hopefully you know what I am talking about.

Hey BD thanks.... We had gotten some free skunk haze with an order once before. We tried growing them and they were over 6ft tall. It was like a jungle, but the grow didnt turn out well. Anyway... after that we did the BB's and the NL's and I topped them pretty well. I had a nice bushy SOG. I was impressed with myself.... and they averaged about 3 1/2 maybe 4ft. It turned out to be a great grow. But now that we are thinking about switching over to Hydro and using a table, I know that the height will be an issue because if the light and the height off the tent. Which is 4x4x7. We are using a 400 watt hps by the way.
