clone fiming?

First hello everyone this will be my first indoor grow and first time using clones. I've grown outdoors from brickweed seeds (you youngins prolly won't have the pleasure of ever smoking it lol). Now that I'm a bit older and some health issues I started using cannabis again and have come off 9 different pills in the last year. Ok so hubby built me a cabinet out of 1x3 framing wrapped in foamboard, money is tight so he built a cfl light for it,filtered intake and exhaust so on and so forth. Ok for my post I've googled for a couple days now trying to find a picture of how to fim a clone cuz of the nodes not being symmetrical. So I'll post a pic of what I tried the other day. Did I hit it? Or if not can someone show were to fim at?

Nodes won't be symmetrical as they are off a plant that has already reached sexual maturity and alternating nodes is the first sign of that.

You can certainly FIM a clone and the worst that can happen if it doesn't work is that you top instead of FIM.

Thanx OldMedUser for the info if I missed the FIM I can work with the girl.
I did some art work on the picture you posted to show it asymmetrical as clones do.
So would the cuts be in the same place like this?

What you've done in your diagram is a simple topping which with a clone like yours is really about what's going to happen anyway now that I look closer at the mechanics of it all.

Just snipping the tip off is probably the best way to go. just the tip tho so the little grow shoot just underneath it doesn't get cut off.

Thanx again OldMedUser. Think I'm just gonna go with what I know and do basic training.
Tyke1973 yeah there's a healthy root ball I trasfered them from the small 1/2 gallon they came in into 7 gal fabrics. I don't know if all the training/topping/fiming stuff is new or if it was the last time I grew cannabis it was before internet lolol guess I was LST and super cropping before I knew what it was called. I feel this is going to be a very interesting hobby this time around :). Uploading a pic from yesterday of the one I pinched.

No different to training roses or grapes on a vertical trellis.Just be very gentle with the training and all will be good, but to be honest before I got into training ,and different growing techniques,I would master the basics keeping them healthy and getting a decent feeding Sced, also keying your room in,dial it in.On e you get it sorted then the rest will become far easier

Im actually sorry to hear that Miyagismokes seeing all the pretty looking flower at the dispensary now a days it's almost shameful what gets done to get something like cannabis that's real from the earth into the usa.
I agree Tyke1973 Im enjoying all the new stuff I'm finding at the hydroponics store and getting to check the temp/ph/humidity is almost therapeutic in its own rights. Did not realize how much I missed gardening :)
