clone and light question

ok so a friend of mine has a clone its about a foot tall not quite sure on the exact age and the strain is purple passion. He recently switched from 24 hours of light a day to 18 hour of light 6 hours of darkness, after 3 days the clone is growing lots of pistils. To me it looks like its flowering but he doesnt want it to be flowering this early so should he change his lights back to 24 hours a day? or is it normal

i should also add its growing under 2, 23wat cool white clf spiral bulbs

clones pre-flowers way faster, mine are all at the same height and doing the same. its normal. i use 6 23w 6500k for vegging.

and watch out, i grew 2 plants from seeds and like 10 clones, up till like 1 month the clones are about the same height as plant from seed, and they grew like a foot overnight...lol

It's not necessarily normal, but it's not abnormal. Your friend could go back to 24-0 or stick with what he's doing. The clone is probably from an old plant and is simply ready to 'pop'. As long as its not an auto-flowering variety (of which I know nothing) then it can't flower under 18-6.
