clip or not clip?

so I totally brain-sharted the other morning and forgot to water my plants before going to work... :(

When I came home - they were all looking pretty sad with creasing leaves - and one had severe dehydration on a few parts of the leaves.

So I handled everything accordingly and they are up to par now - my question to everybody is:

Should I trim the lower set of adult leaves that has dried up dead matter on about %20 of each leaf?

yeah go ahead and trim. I like to keep my plants nice and trimmed even if the leaves aren't dying, it only hurts the plant if you trim while its flowering

If your plants need watering everyday then something is wrong put the plants in a larger tub.Plants should need watering once a week twice at most. The less you water the plants the better the root mass will be,the plant will send out new roots to find water thus giveing you bigger yeild. You are over watering dude.

no dude, if ur growing in 16 oz cups then you need to water 2x a day. it all depends on your pot size..

yo man-DO NOT trim your leaves off.every one of your trimmings will stress the plant and stunt the grow for a couple of days, cas its going to grow new leaves anyway.plant need every leaf, and the will fall of naturally when its time.so dont trim those lower leafes.your plant ned to make sugar so it can get food and that all happens in the leaves(photosyn.)

Like he said...just let them fall off. If they need to be off, they'll fall off.

trimming leaves on a vegging plant does NOT hurt the plant. yes it might stress it for a few days, but trimming is actually good for the plant. it helps the smaller leaves receive more light, and forces the plant to create new growth. I'm not saying go trim all the fan leaves off your plant, of course it will be in shock. I've done a few experiments and the plants I trimmed are twice as thick and bushy as the ones I let grow naturally.

It's in a small 6in clay pot, prolly 50oz... so is another, the rest are in small ass parkay margarine tubs... so yeh, ive had to water every day. Tomorrow I'll be upgrading to 8in or 10in pots. gonna stick with those, going for a small scrog.

So would it be best to clip away the leaves that are obscuring light for the bud sites at the lower part of the plant. I was told the more light the buds sites receive the more production... Anybody?

If you have the room use 3 to 5 gallon pots. I have flowered in 1 gallon pots, but the yield was crap. Simple rule, the bigger the pot the bigger the harvest.

i had intended on having a bigger box/room.. but things came up and im stuck with a smaller one and 6 plants... hopefully the weaker looking ones are males and i end up with 3-4 fems... i could deal with that.

Thats it brother, make the best of what you got to work with. At least you will be growing some of your own smoke. Get bigger later if you can.

Yes sir! I was going for 4x4x2.5.... then ended up with 5Hx2.5wx2.5d... so i can get a bit taller than expected, but my plants are cramped... and they are FIM too.... lol... so i see some trimming in the future.. You can see them in the link in my sig, haven't updated since the stress of going into larger pots and new box, but they have taken the hell off!
