cleaning the prefilter on my carbon filter?

my prefiter on my carbon filter is very dusty..i belive its slowing my fan down..i noticed i cud take it off..but how do i clean it?water?or do i just knock the dust out?or im i not even supposed to?anyone ever do this?

put it in the dryer on gentle/delicate/ no heat fot 10 mins,,,,,of vaccum it?

They are machine washable. Just don't dry it in the dryer, or you could if you use the air dry cycle.

I washed mine by hand and air dried (no dryer)
