circular scrog?

Has anyone ever scrog'ed a completely circular plant? I'm imagining just winding the plant in progressively larger loops as it goes so that the growth in terms of actual height remains minimal. I guess, in theory if you had a good hydro setup, you could have a plant that's a foot tall but is equivalant in total mass to like, a 10 foot plant. that would essentially solve the penetration problem because the new sets of leaves wouldn't be covering the old sets.

surprised this isn't getting attention. :(. haha jk, but seriously, I think that this is a manner of growing that is totally dimensionally unique and i'm wondering if anyone has ever tried it, or knows of it having been done. if not, then i will begin my experiment.

any reasons why it COULDN"T work?

you mean training the plant in a horizontal spiral? not really a scrog, but achieving the same purpose.

i am currently trying to do that with my plant. still in the early stages.

That would actually be LST. People like it a lot for the same reasons that you stated, low height and good penetration. I'd say that one loop around the pot would be hard enough, but if you have enough time and patience to train it in multiple loops it would be a good experiment. Check out the grow FAQ for some techniques on it.
