Chop or Not

I had two plants in my last grow go hermie on me halfway through flowering. The male flowers grew straight out of the female buds. The plants got alot of stress from screwed up light cycles and other factors because I'm a newb.

I have two clones from those two plants in this grow. Should I kill them because their parents eventually turned into hermies? They have alot less stress on them and I was hoping to keep them but I also don't want to risk getting this crop seeded. What to do? They are Juicy Fruit, a Thai strain. I read Thai strains are more prone to intersex changes.
 
usually when stressed the leaves go in circles from shock then u could get a male sack or 2 might of been that, its hard to get an answer sometimes. someone help this man!!!
 
I'm just going to chop them. They screwed me over last time and I'm not even going to let them have the chance this time. Better to have a decent yield guaranteed rather than gamble on a bigger yield with a chance of having my whole harvest screwed over by seeds and crappy weight.
 
Yeah ok I'll do that. I just took out one of them to kill it and it was so beautiful I couldn't do it. I took pictures. My SD card is still messed up. Wish I could post them. The pistils are looking beatiful.
 
Your post title was not specific and people had to actually read more than a sentence and think for a second to try to figure out what you were even trying to ask. It wasn't clear at all, not like it should have been.

That's why nobody answered.

Next time Put the question right in the subject and don't start rambling about unrelated stuff before you get to the question.

If the title had been: "I have hermies, what to do with them?"
or "my ladies are trannies" or anything and you could have had a response right off the bat.

Anyway, yes, I'd have killed them rather than risk them seeding your other ladies.
 
At the end of 2nd week. Forgot to mark down their flowering date so I just know it's been basically 2 weeks. Got some mangos and juicy fruits, same as last grow. I want to go all mango but I already had the juicy fruits cloned and vegged so I thought what the hell. Next grow will be straight mango. Soon I might get an Afghooey and Legend's Ultimate Indica clones from a friend and turn them into mothers though.

dude get the afghooey, its dank. my non connoisseur friends think its quite possibly the dopest dope they ever smoked! and kill the hermies unless u dont want any bud at all. Make sure theres no possible light leaks, man do they fuck shit up.
 
Yeah he raves about afghooey too. I'm excited to be getting it.

As far as these plants under discussion, they themselves are not hermies but their parents turned hermie a few weeks after I took the clones. But I think because the flowers came out of the buds rather than at the internodes it means its an intersex plant and not a hermaphrodite. Hermaphrodites will grow male flowers no matter how little stress they have on them. Intersex traits like staminate male flowers grow out of the bud and are induced by stress (by my understanding anyways).

I'm chopping them down. Going to go upstairs and force myself to do it. I'm taking pics though so in case I get my SD card working (fat chance) I can show you guys the little beauties I had to give up. One of them is very unique phenotype so it sucks to be killing it. Unique but useless ha. It's yield sucked.

i have been looking for that since i read about it in a medical journal. do you know a reliable source for the seeds? i cant find them anywere...

and yes chop em. not worth the time.

Well, If you have the parents in a different room than the clones flowering I don't see a reason to chop em. say you had a light leak causing the moms to hermie, or intersex? lol. from my understanding, you can keep a hermie from pollinating itself by correcting the conditions that made it hermie. This is coming from some big timers on cannabis com. and what about a product called Reverse? female hormones added should prevent production of male pollen.

about the sd card, my shit does that too, only works if my power cord's plugged in. haha

sure don't bro :( If i could ever get a seed from the dealer I would. You try seedbankupdate? I'd try the list.
