Checking the trichomes??

I've noticed the maturity of the trichomes are different in the heart of the flowers than on the sugar leaves.
I have lots of cloudy and amber on my sugar leaves and the flower trichs are just turning cloudy.

The hairs on my buds have gone from white to almost all a rusty color orange.

Should I wait until the flower trichs start going amber?

No. Amber to brown means the thc is degrading. Clear is peak production and cloudy means it has started to turn. And for best results wait until the white pistils all start turning orange (or other darker colors) and shrinking back. The calyx are actually swelling still during that time. Then when the buds start looking done is really when you would look at trichomes for cloudy.

On strains that go cloudy I like to see as close to 100% as possible.

The leaves trichomes tend to mature faster than the bud ones. Look to the bud for maturity. And look at the whole plant. There is a done look.
