Check out my Palm Trees!

Hi, first post here and just hoping to get some feedback on my first real indoor attempt, and the interesting specimens Im working with. No real problems so far, besides some leaf discoloration and a cloning station that doesnt appear to be working at optimal capacity. Besides that Im quite happy with how things are progressing!

So, I started a bunch of random seeds from random friends - about 60 seeds. I was to be discrete about this so i seeded them all along with vegetables I was starting for a spring garden, so this was back in about April. Unfortunately this being my first time really growing and paying attention to plants, so there was some things to be learned, like if you are to start all your plants next to a windows, they will stretch and develop weak steams.

So, after all my seeds grew to about 6-10 inches or so, I had about 20 or so plants left. I hadn't planned what to do with them at this point. I ended up taking about 15 plants and placing them in random wooded areas in individual small clusters, just to see what would happen. Of course I gave them a little potting soil, but besides that, I left them to compete with all the other vegetation in these less than optimal areas.

So, I come back late in the season when things are starting to get cold (Ontario), about a month ago, and find most of my plants simple gave up, though in one spot by the river, I had 3 that had grown maybe a few more inches, and to my surprise had a single little bud developing on each top. Cool! Since frost was coming soon, I decided to dig up 4 remaining plants and bring them home to the indoors. This is when i decided to make a little space for them.

The first pictures are of when I first brought the plants home. Long stretched stem, leaves at the bottom trimmed (to emphasize more bud growth when i first checked on them in the woods), and one little bud growing.

So, I ended up building a small tent. Wood frame and panda film. Computer fan and pvc pipe to put aquarium activated carbon in to filter smell (I've purchased some ducting and a duct fan to replace the computer fan for when I actually put the carbon in when things start to smell). Then I got a 400w halide and a big hot ballast for a good deal - to replace my idea of using 40w cfls - Savin those for a veg chamber now.

I started to give the plants a continuing flower cycle to have each of their single bud grow to as big as it could, but after more research I discovered monster cropping - cloning a premature budded plant so that when the bud reverts to veg, a ridiculous amount of stems start emerging. And so I have created palm trees. Perhaps linked to my subconscious desires for a tropical beach, spoken through the enhanced psychic spirit of marijuana.

Anyway, Hope you like the pics. I think the variety of leaf shapes is super cool, only I hope it does not impede with widespread bud growth that hopefully all these plants can end up filling my tent with.

Any help or suggestions toward anything, especially the unhealthy leaves would be appreciated. I have them in organic soil with perlite and once about a week ago fed them with 20-20-20 fertilizer that could have been a little strong. Just been giving them water for the past few days.

Also this cloning box hasn't noticeably given much roots in the past week I've been using it!? Just using tap water that has sat over night. Added a little nutrients a few days ago.
