Cheapest way to get rid of smell

what is everyone’s opinion on how to hide the smell the best cheapest way possible??

there's no good cheap way. the only real effective way is a carbon filter, and the cheap ones are cheap for a reason.
there are things you can do to help. grow aromatic plants around your house, outside if you have a yard, in containers if you don't.
rosemary, chrysanthemums, mint, lavendar, bee balm, all have a strong but pleasant odor.
there are particular strains known for being low odor. a lot easier to cover up a little smell than a big stink.
durban poison, northern lights,blue mystic, sharksbreath, white rhino, and papaya are just some strain that are supposed to be low odor.
i wouldn't get a bucket of ona gel anywhere close to my grow room, but one right behind your front door couldn't hurt.

What Roger said. There's only a right and wrong way to do it. Cheapest way is probably a 4" filter, duct, and fan setup.

Ok you guys think that’ll keep the smell down for 9 plants?

what kind of light are you using? part of the function of the exhaust fan is getting rid of heat, the cooler it is , the less fan you need. (up to a certain point)

I’m using a 300 watt Viparspectra and a 450 watt Vipraspectra I have a nice flow of fresh cool air coming in always so it stays around 78-80 in there

then you don't need to worry about hooking your lights into the circuit. just hang whatever filter you get in your tent above your lights, and it will keep the smell and the temps down. a 4 inch set up ought to be adequate.
might as well pop the 20 bucks or so for a speed controller too, look on amazon for "router speed controller" or "fan speed controller" they're both the same thing. i bought a 17 dollar one 3 years ago and its still working fine. it allows you to turn your fan up to full speed in the day time, then turn it down the 30% or so at night to help keep humidity from spiking

Size the fan to grow room and the filter to the fan. Going a size up is always a good idea. Asking if a particular fan/filter combo will work for a garden with 9 plants is like asking what kind of mileage do cars get. We could be talking about anything from geo metro to a top fuel dragster. Or anything from 9 clones flipped as soon as you see good vegetative growth all the way up to huge bushes that need their very own 1k light.

I disagree with the soeed control part. For a fan that small I think you’ll always want to run it on full power. My 4” barely clears out my smallest cab.

I use a fan speed controller for my drying tent, but otherwise I run mine at full speed. However, if a person had a serious big boy inline fan, that might be too much, context is everything.
I ran a 4” filter but the 4” fan was weak as could be, I would recommend a 6” filter and fan, or a 4” filter, with a 6” fan and a reducer flange to hook them together. A six inch filter will last a hell of a lot longer, too. Don’t forget the aluminum tape, OP.

I have a total of four 6” carbon filters running in my house, year round.

OP, there is no cheap way, but it is a lot cheaper than paying retail for weed.

If you run a 6" fan on a 4" filter the air won't have enough exposure time in the filter to be fully scrubbed before being exhausted.

Need to calculate cfm from the size of your room really to get the right size filter.

What would be a good brand or model u guys would recommend? Vivosun?

8" 730cfm can fan wit 8" can fan charcoal filter. It's about 3 ft tall and weighs 65lbs easy. Works great.

Air comes out smelling clean and pure.

Or a diy filter made from a 5ga bucket.

Charcoal is ridiculously expensive.
