cheap tent from Amazon??

I bought a tent off of amazon for about 80 bucks. Now It is not made with the plastic. It has a nice thick jacket like cover with the shiny stuff. What I was wondering is if these poisonous tent put off a weird smell? It almost smells like the new smell does but a little more chemicaly... if that makes sense. If anybody could help I'll give +rep.

It shouldn't off-gas, and the smell is probably because it's new.

I had a weird smell with mine when I first received it but it went away after a couple days

Sounds cheap, is it from China? good quality? Light leaks?

its just new enjoy it whilst it last it wont smell when the heat takes it and the bud start to flower

I gave all you +rep even you GooDGR3EN13.. JK.. no, but really I gave all +rep. Thanks for responding. I was thinking about what I have done in the last few days it was simple mistakes and the addition of spraying a little bug spray is probably the extra kick in the new smell. It as a few light leaks but thats no problem i have my 400w on 24/7 while my 1kw is in a light proof black/white pollied closet. The only lights that will be on inside the main room is the cloneing rack.

Just make sure it is PVC free. PVC will seriously harm your heath and your plants. Check the homebox.net page for more details about PVC and why they don´t use it. Please get a quality grow tent (buy it from ebay if you are on a budget) for your own sake. Cheers.

I got a Secret Jardin and I don't recall any "new" smell coming with it. I'd leave that tent wide open a few days with fans running and let it air out.

Like I said it may not be the tent, but I'm going down the list trying to find the culprit. Let me add that the product title says the tent is lined with mylar... not true. It's actually lined with a better material that looks texturely simlar to rock polished aluminium.
