Cheap DIY carbon filter

now this is more of a question than a diy. I am wondering if this unorthadox design will still scrub my air. Its much cheaper than the standard diy scrubber and easier. Any advice would help. inside of this rain filter I plan on filling with active carbon seperated by a layer of cloths. is there any reason this will not work? This will be intake suking the stink through the fan instead of blowing out.

My only concern is that you'll get adequate airflow through that Hydrofarm fan with the layers of cloth and the activated carbon. How many CFMs is she? Honestly, it looks a tad ghetto and all........But if that works and all the parts can be had cheap from home depot and a pet store....I'd be stoked! If I were you I'd give it a try. Report back as to how it works out! I use a Phresh filter and it works good. But is expensive and an alternate solution where I could switch the carbon would be ideal!

its a 400 cfm fan and with the muzzle on the front its super quiet, so far the odor has gone away. I built this 2 weeks into flowering and its working well, im just concerned I may have gotten a better deal with a shop built scrubber
