Cheap co2 idea?

Seems a bit of a no brainer to me, but yeast fermenting with produce co2,

Naturally you could get a sugar solution and chuck some yeast in it and literally have some alcohol fermenting in your grow area to produce co2 naturally and cost effectively, i mean sugar and yeast and water are all cheap, and then you get some free booze out of it at the end. Although higher temperature it might not be the most tasty but heck you could build up a big supply of it and run it through a still later on etc or just ditch it and start a new batch every week to pump out more co2.

Thoughts and comments?

Done it. IMO it's more trouble than it's worth. And if you're not doing it properly, bacteria is just going to take over the sugar/water and it gets pretty nasty. Unless you're running carboys and fermentation locks I wouldnt drink it

yeh i got a carboy with bubbler i'll give it a go have this rank old honey been sitting in the cupboard for many years may as well use it up :D

Be more concern about bringing in fresh air 24-7... co2 is for the big league, it doesnt mean you can't grow big nugs without it...

if you got a small garden you will try the sugar and yeast and think, I got keep that co2 in the room, you will seal your room and think, holy shit it gets hot in here, holy shit it gets humid in here ... holy shit what's that, powdery mildew how did that happen!!

Fresh air = clean flowers

I've seen the "co2 bags" (myCO2 i think) at the grow shop and wondered how they compare to the DIY yeast CO2 systems. Anyone have any experience?

i use the co2 bags and grow nice plants dont know if its from the bags but i always use em all the shops say they work great

These are the co2 bags at my local hydro shop which I will be using (-->CLICK HERE<--), apparently they get great reviews and people keep buying them so they must work pretty well, however for big grow rooms the tanks are more practical.

We used to have people buying 12 of those bags at a time... I think that's the point where you need to just invest in a 50lb tank and controller

Yea no kidding, 12 x co2 bags is like $300, why in the world wouldn't you just buy a tank and regulator or a co2 burner?????
