Cheap CO2 idea - baking soda and vinegar

Been reading about CO2 and the same idea of yeast and sugar keep popping up. Good idea but I seem to remember that vinegar and baking soda also produces CO2 when mixed. Just an idea. It would be a more instantaneous release but maybe if we marry all these ideas together, we can come up with something else (kinda like a Reese's peanut butter cup)

You'll make a big mess, & It will stink up your grow room! Just get a bucket, and throw some Dry Ice in there as often as u can. Its 99 cents a Lb. thats pretty cheap... cheaper than baking soda and vinegar...

hillbilly how much dry ice should you add? And do you add it to water so it smokes or just put in the bucket to melt?

well i usually take 2-3 lbs at the grocery store and just let it evaporate without water... if u add water it will freeze and encapsulate the dry ice. the more dry ice the more CO2 and always keep your door shut when you do this because you will loose the CO2 if you sit and watch it smoke... haha its hard not to watch!

were the hell do you get dry ice
many grocery stores sell it, call around it shouldnt be hard to find

i personally like the idea of sugar + yeast...used properly it will allow a gradual (timed) release of co2, but whichever.

ive heard dry ice doesnt actually release all that much co2, a 2 liter of sugar and yeast will give u more co2 than a couple lbs of dry ice
