check these out, im wondering, could these screw into a regular lamp? like no ballast?

most likely not, and if they do, they may not be sufficient

they look like they could work in a regular light bulb lamp.

A high pressure sodium bulb will usually require a ballast, the first ones you showed look like they came out of a bomb shelter thats been closed for 50 years.

Don't buy second hand bulbs ever.

yeah, they do look the same, but the end is much bigger than a normal one, and the threads are space further. and, personally, I'd never get a used bulb from ebay

I could be wrong but i dont think they plug into a regular lamp. Its hard to tell from the picture but a 400w bulb is big with a larger socket/ballast. Guess you could ask the seller before wasting your money. Definitely go new when buying lights.
