Charcoal filter issues

I bought a 6" filter from vivdsun about year ago. Lately, I've been noticing a powdery substance that accumulates on the filter itself along with the mesh filter that clogs up my filtration causing problems in my tent. I've tried to replace the filter but the problem comes right back after about my first grow. What can I do to fix this issue? Can I tear it down and rinse the screen part? Or is it just a cheap product? Help me....

I had the same problem. I finally figured it out that it was the tap water I was using in my humidifier. I took it completely apart and cleaned it. It was tuff getting all the charcoal packed back into the canister. It plugged up again just after 2 days using tap water. I just blew it out. From the inside blowing out. After that started using RO water in the humidifier and has been great ever since. Tried to add a pic of mine of what it looked like torn down. Mine was a 4" vivosun
