Changing light schedule

Ok so summer is coming and i am already noticing that i wont be able to keep temps down during hot days.. my grow is on the third floor and is vented into the ceiling. as of right now my lights turn on at noon and off at midnight but to lower temps while the lights are on i want to switch it to on at 9pm and off at 9am, i was wondering if i should gradually make the change or all at once also i'm assuming i give them extra darkness rather than extra light.. All opinions are helpful and as always thanks in advance RIU

I would just pull the plug at noon before the lights come on. Switch your timer to your new sched. So your lights will be off for 21 hours for one day only.

u can just change the timer with no ill effects......go for an extra long dark period, from midnight to 9pm the next day and it should work out fine

if its ready to flower i would do 12/12---do you have a vent to draw fresh air in and a fan to blow old air out?
