change light cycle

hi there,
the plant is 12 inches roughly, 7 sets of leaves, the new leaves that are supposed to grow havnt fully grown yet, do i take these off??
and ive been told to change the light regime already, from 8 hours darkness to 12 hours.
is this right?
the plant is around a month year old.

dont take any leaves off at the moment.

u dont have to switch to 12/12. u can keep growing it bigger if u want. someone probably told u to go 12/12 because most ppl veg for a month. that plant is a good size. it will double, if not triple in size when u start flowering

switch to 12/12 whenever u feel like it. just bear in mind that that will at least double in size when you flower. It looks good, flower at will!
