Hi i am planning on doing a closet grow with a 400 watt hps/mh...and at first im starting by seed( will be taking clones lator on)
Would a 6 27 Watt 6400K cfl with a reflectors be ok For 6 Seedlings?
How long could i grow the seedlings with those lights??
How big should they be before i put them under Mh?

1 per plant is good for the first week but after then you should group the plants and try to use your lights more efficiently

example.. instead of 1 light above 1 plant put 1 light in between 2 plants...
The sides of cfls produce alot more light then the tips.. But either way

Try to make your cfls get you to week 3 and then turn your mh on but keep it a good distance away so you dont burn... dont turn the cfls off though!

Turning the cfls off is where people go wrong. Keep them on for side lighting  Trust me your plants will love it.

When it comes time to flower use your hps for top lighting but buy like 2 2700k cfls for each plants main cola and hang them so the sides of the cfls are 3 inches from the side of the bud and your bud will swell, swell, swell. and be much denser then the ave bud..

For the first 2 days (after popping up), what i do anyway, is 24/0 and for the first 12 hours of the day I use 1 42w 2700k cfl 2" from the top and for the second 12 hours i use 4 23w 6500k cfls placed equally 2" from the sides of plant..

The 27k is good for verticle growth...
The 65k is good for bushy bushy bushy...

Knowing this i vertically grow my plant for 12 hours then bush it out for 12..
Gives the plant an excellent start!!!

After that I say do as you like but Im tellin you its an awesome way to start your little ones!:leaf:
