CFL question

I have been reading this forum about using cfl's as a lighting source. However I was not able to find the answers that I was looking for.
I have been looking at different lights. The first one is a sunshine lamp that is 20w 620 lumens and 5000k.
The second is for plants and aquariums at 750lumens and 30w. And lastly a sunshine cfl with 620 lumens and 5000k, 20w. My grow room will be 4'h x 6'l x 4'w.
The reason that I want to use cfls is I am on a tight budget. thanks for the help.

you want daylight spectrum cfls, 500k isnt bad the ones i use are 6000k i believe. and you want the 23-26 actual watt lights at least, bigger if you can find them. high spectrum lights for veg growth, then switch to normal 3k or so yellow/red spectrum for flower. you can get those bigger, ive seen them up to 75 watt. tubes can work but they are beter for younger plants. the trick to cfls is to get a lot of them all around your plants. kinda tough to do. but possible if you are creative. ive been running over 550watts cfls in my current grow, 6x6 room with 11 plants. cfls can cost you nearly as much as HID if you do it right, maybe more. but it is easier to get started, Y splitters are your friend. goodluck
