I'm wondering how much a multiple low-watt(like between 60 and 90 watt) cfl light setup would cost and whether or not i would need a ballast(because low lights shouldn't need them?) And what should i look for in terms of shopping for components? I intend to do a single/two plant setup in a stealth box 2' high, any suggestions?

costs? I would like to know how much i would be paying. and how to i go about where to plug those suckers in?

i use a surge protector, light socket to plug adapters and y-splitters. plug the entire thing into a timer and it costs around $60. got most of the stuff from home depot

thank you for answering my questin. one more: how much is a timer that will work with cfl really cheap/reliable(best mix of the two)?

For vegging i would recommand using at least using 2 36 watt cfl per plant. I bought a 4 pack for around 10 bucks yesterday from lowes. Secondly for flowering , if you plan on flowering with cfl, which is kinda a bad idea. I would flower under 10k lumens per plant. These 36w replacements are around 1.7k lumens, so i would use around 7 of them per plant in flowering, Anything less would leave you with a srry yeild anything above would just make it a better yeild. If you have a lowes near you, you could pick up all the items you need. Your going to have to buy the cfl fixture aka the light socket, for around $3 bucks a piece, $3 black tape for your wiring, and a power cord to plug your lights up. If i didnt make this clear for ya, i wouldnt mind trying again peace!joint.gif Also this way you will spend less money. Times at lowes 7 bucks, power cord can be stripped frrom an old electronic.
