CFL or T5 for Veg

I've been using 2-26w cfl's to veg but the plants have stretched more than I would like them to, so I'm thinking about switching to a single 150w cfl or 2-3 2ft t5's. This light setup would be used for vegging clones and maintaining a mother. Another option would be to get two splitters and place 4-43w cfls in the space. Any experience or advice is welcome.

I would stick with CFL's instead of T-5's. The CFL light will be concentrated on one spot rather then having the light distributed over a long area. I love Y-adapters...I'd get three of them, screw the first one in the socket, then put a y-adapter in each of the two sockets. Now you'll be able to light 4 CFL's from one socket. As far as the size, I would start with 4 26watt CFL's then step up the bulb size as the plants get bigger..That's would I would do.

That's probably what I'll do. The to be mother is 6 inches high, I think I would use the 43w cfl's. I want to keep her short and bushy as possible. Do you use a reflector for the cfl's? The t5's from hydrofarm have sweet reflectors and several units are able to be linked together. T5's also put out a higher amount of lumens when compared to cfl (this is what I have read). It doesn't seem as many people use T5's as cfl's, is there a reason besides cost for this?

Not sure. Maybe preference..I have a 65watt cfl equivalent to 300 watts and good for 4,000 + lumens. It has been working well for me so far. Once i get some more money together I would like to replace all of my smaller cfl's with the 65watter. I keep my lights about 2-3 inches from the top of the plant and I have nodes growing every 1/2 inch. How far away do you keep your lights?
