hi there i grow with hps so have no knowledge with cfl growing so thought i would ask experts kiss-ass.

well my friend is wanting to grow with cfl,s he is looking to grow 2 plants in a room 4f wide 3f high and 2 deep i was thinking of telling him to grow with i 300wcfl and 2 50w would this be enought light for 2 plants ?

or is this over the top if so what is the proper cfl set up for growing 2 plants ?

personally I would perhaps go with 2x 250w with reflector and if he wants to do autos get dual spectrum 250watters.

For one plant if wanted mega good yield as poss go with a 300w with reflector and aslong good reflective area will be fine. Side lighting always helps though mate. Gets more light to your buds and only need cheap house ones :)

If the room is that big, why does he want to use CFL?

If I had more space, I would absolutely go HPS. (sorry guys, I'm still loyal to CFL, but only until I have space for HPS ;-)

you have a very very good point. I love my cfls and all but hps does tear the shit out of them. a cooltubed hps is the best choice imo.

this is what im runnin now after runnin 6 42w bulbs i added in my 70w hps they always seemed to fill out better but i didnt have room for the heat in my other box setup and two 65w remote ballast cfl that i love and took two smalls out i've noticed you do wana have a bunch for a good spread of light and a little higher wattages to get good light penetration get a nice canopy w trimmin

think av convinced him to get 2x150cfl red spec and 4x26wcfl blue spec for veg and change to red spec for flowering .

hes growin in a garage and he dose not want a large heat source like my hps produces as helicopters with thermal cameras fly about a lot :wall:

ive seen alot of cool stuff done w/ a small 60gpm water pump a bucket w ice and a roll of copper tube if hes really worried
