This is my first time growing. I've been in love with weed since i was 13 years old so might as well give it a try.

STRAIN - UNKNOWN????

LIGHTS - 2x 24W CFLs and 2x 18W CFLs

MEDIUM- Peat moss and Peralite mix

quick info - i bought a half ounce of of a dominant sativa strain. when i saw a seed i kinda jumped for glory (seeing as it was some dank bud) but long story short i found 8 seeds:-P, lost 2:finger:, germinated 6 seeds, 5 were ready in less than 2 days:clap:, the 6th never germed :-( .....
but anyways i have 4 indoor with no more room so i put one outside... and a cold front came and killed it....:wall:
BUT the 4 are fine here are pictures of the set up

any advice, tips, comments, suggestions, replies,..... anything really just go ahead and post.........:?

Take out those watering globe things and put your lights 2-3 inches from the plants.MJ prefers a dryer soil not wet.

but anyways, when should i add nutes? i have a 4-3-3 premixed nutes for vegging

I'd pull the tin-foil down before you hurt your plants hah. But yeah the nute mixture sounds good just hold off another week on adding that, and do it less concentrated at first and build up.

Definitely take those lazy watering things out...water the plants yourself so you can get accustomed to how much they are taking every 3 or 4 days or so. You want to water, let the top 3-4 inches of soil dry and then water again. Usually takes a few days at least.

Also, get those CFL's within inches of your plants, seriously! They don't put off a ton of heat so you should be able to get really close to the plant without any problem. Start the light about 3-4 inches away and move closer if you need to.

I agree with above post. You need to let soil dry out a lil not moist all the time. The top 3 inches of soil should be bone dry then water generously. MJ roots are use to arid environments and most species will do well in arid conditions , I had a 3 month old plant behind my house in a field that I didnt even know was there and it was sum healthy mean shit, you would be suprised, so dont be afraid to let the soil get a lil bit dry. Overwatering is way worse for your roots.

ur ok with the tin foil for now but after they are a month old you have to take it out cuz it will leave brown spots in ur leafs . and i suggest u top them of lst them as soon as possible since u have a small grow space .

Go to a dollar store and get Mylar Wrapping paper to replace your tin foil.
Move your lights closer...CFL's can be within 1 inch or so without burning...though personally I like to keep them a bit further away until the plants have a set or two of "real" leaves as opposed to those little round primordial leaves.

As for the watering globes...
I know everyone is telling you not to use them, and they probably will block some of your light unless you position them correctly. However...while I've never used them for MJ (because I do bubble/aero indoors), I did buy my wife some for a peace lily we had once. They are friggen amazing. They really do give about the exact amount of water the plant needs at a given time based on the amount of air in the soil and the pressure caused by it all. Perhaps different growing mediums would provide different results.
Anyway...I'm not exactly telling you to use it, because I agree that you should get familiar with your plants, etc....but I can't say for certain that its a bad thing for soil grows. I've seen them work on other plants too well to start doubting them simply because this is MJ. MJ tends to grow better/hardier/more resilient than most houseplants...so I really don't see it causing too much in the way of problems.

yea my peat moss mix is extremely dry i usually fill the globes and let them water the plant for me within a day or 2 then i leave them empty for a day and refill them, its just because im not there all the time and in case of an emergency i can tell my friend just to refill those instead of over watering or under watering them, as for my lights thats the lowest they can go for now ive been trying to put stuff under my pots to make them reach a little closer to the plants but i have 2x 5000k 32W + 1x 2300k 20W per plant, my fisheye lense really throws off how high my lights are they really are only about 4-5 inches away

the tinfoil goes down in a few days and gets replaced with the mylar paper, thanks for your advice

i plan on fimming/ topping them, maybe do the LST, but most importantly im planning on finding the healthiest mother with the gentics i prefer and cloning it about 5 or 6 times, im going to use another room to make a DWC cloner and have my mother(to produce large and healthy clones) and clones vegging in it(vegging room 16/8) and then a flowering room(12/12)

top those bitches now and get shot of that cooking foil it creates hotspots and will burn ur leaves, your cfl's are pathetic invest 40 bucks in a 250w metal halide light with shade :)

take out that tin foil that is creating hotspots and invest in a metal halide 250w with shade, your cfl's are naff and very poor at emitting the light spectrum your plants need ...............good luck :)
