When shopping for cfl's buy a few from different manufactures, each cfl manufacturer has a slightly different actual observed color from the stated on the box.. 2735 or 2673 vs 2700k for example. Here's a pop mechanics review on some major brands.
The important thing is, when buying lights for the first time change up the brands, get a few lights from all the different manufacturers at the same color rating. This will give you a much wider spectrum spread around the color you want than buying one big box all from the same manufacturer.
