CFL--Bulbs touching?

I've seen it on a few of your grows. I was just wondering if from a theoretical standpoint if it was safe to do, and/or have any of you had bad experiences doing this

yes they will burn your plants as one of my ak's found out the other day.

kepping them an inch away is fine, u just need to make daily adjustments

ive burnt a few leaves. Is a pain to move um every day so i put them at 3 " and move um every other day

Ugh...not what I meant. I mean when two CFL bulbs touch each other, not the plant...I couldn't care less about a couple of burnt leaves.

wont matter had them touching in a pc case for months

the only thing id be worried about was excessive heat buildup

Never had any problems with bulbs touching each other, just keep some airflow though there and you can comfortably touch those CFL's

they will be ok touching.
