Cfl and Led grow

Greetings

This is a grow to test Leds and Cfl's.
Lights: 4x 65w LOA, 330 10mm red and blue leds, 1x uvb (for resin production), 4x 23w (warm white), 4x 3w leds
Lumens: 4500x4,1800x4,2400 red leds,700 blue leds Total 28,300 Lumen
Growth medium: Soil mix
Nutes: Fox Farm
Strains: Alaskan Ice, Cheese, Lemon Skunk, Power Skunk, White Rhino, Big Budda Blue Cheese, Sagamartha Mix, Flying Dutchmans Fem mix, and last bagseed

I will post more as I figure it out.

Plant #1 : Bagseed. I have tried very hard to kill this one from over watering to nute burn. But at least it's got some good soil now. Its currenly in Flower for 2 days. Sex ?

Plant #2,3 Same story as the plant 1

Plant #4 Bagseed Topped FIM In Flower

Plant 5 & 6 Bagseed in flower

Plant 7 & 8 bagseed. Both are runts from the dog taking them as trophy's currently in veg.

Well that's the first run of bagseed. I used it to dial in a little so I didn't mess up the cuties that followed.

Alaskan Ice: Greenhouse seeds currently in veg 3 weeks

Cheese: No need to say more currently in veg 3 weeks

White Rhino: Greenhouse seeds in veg 3 weeks

Lemon Skunk: Greenhouse seeds in veg 3weeks

The first batch of girls

Power Skunk: This ones a mutant it started off with 3 section leaf in veg 3 weeks. I hope this one a girl she will be one for the record books.

More Power Skunk they were all free. In veg 2 weeks

5 more bagseed 3 days old for training and pruning practice.

All of my led panels are home made. I have learned a lot so far the major draw back is the wave length of the red leds it does not allow for flowering. I use 740nm now the best flowering occurs in the far red about 760-800nm. I am currently trying to get some made in china if I can then leds will finally work for the flowering cycle. As far as vegging great results. Lets see if the Mod allows my crop pictures to be posted.

There is more than one, two, or even three light wavelengths that are 100% necessary to grow with LED's. More information will have to be researched for a monster yield. LED's aren't my thing.. so it is up to you to figure it out.

i did a lot of led research, and decided that im not going to leds until i get a cfl system working. that way i can master the hydro and timing stuff. then go back and test hps vs cfl vs led on power usage over yeild. withj clones.

bottom line, i wanna try leds. but dont wanna order a panel, and dont have my soder gun.
will see after this harvest.

That's all been done, dude.

It has been proven that CFL's don't produce anything near what a HID can with the same amount of time.

LED's will be more efficient than the HID's in terms of power consumption. Still, not even touching the HID's in the same time-frame.

All in all, nothing beats HID's.

Don't get me wrong, do your thing. If it is the information you are looking for then don't waste the time or money.

i'm growing with leds
first grow and i'm a noob
should start a journal

I bought a 45 watt led panel $130
i've vegged for 2 weeks just with that lead panel and i must say the seedlings look amazing ...stocky too
i'm gonna flower with 3 42 watt cfl's and that lead panel

good luck with your grow

if my grow goes well i might think about making my own led panel

Hell yea!!! Thats what I'm talking about! Welcome to the CFL area of RIU.. I think it's cool as hell you added LED's with CFL's cuz I think that's the future of micro growing! I can't wait to see how it turns out cuz I'm planing on getting some LED's for side lighting since the run so cool I could line the bottom half of the walls in my cab without burning my girls since I pack em in so close to each other.... Good Luck my friend and come stop by my threads and let me know what you think

I do believe HID is the only way to go for speed of growth and size of flower off of flouresants i have gotten huge amount of tricome production though
