Anyone know a good dose in mg for a good nights sleep? I currently take 15 mg twice daily (oil), but not sure how much would be beneficial for a good nights sleep.

Cbd doesn’t usually contribute to sleeping.

If you have severe pain that keeps you awake at night, using CBD will alleviate the pain therefore allowing you to sleep.

You are better off with a high thc indicia to knock you out. That’s what I have noticed.

Agree on the high THC indica to make you sleepy. Dabs from such a strain would be even better.

CBD Tea is my personal favorite way to prepare for sleep. It allows you to enjoy the benefits of CBD along with the other great benefits found in teas such as chamomile and other herbs and spices

CBN is the sleepy factor in Indica.

Me I like lots of CBD with THC to cut the high. (Good for sleep)

Grow your own Indica and wait for amber tricomes.

CBD dose, for me at least 30 mg twice a day. Reality, I consume hundred plus milligrams some days.

To the average person, it’s easy to assume CBD would make you sleepy, especially if you’re familiar with the powerful sedative effects of using marijuana or THC.

After all, how could CBD help alleviate sleeping disorders like insomnia without making the user sleepy?

Keep reading to find the answer and learn some surprising facts about CBD that you may have never known

From what I've read, CBD has a more stimulating effect than a sedating one. That's generally speaking of course. However, I do have some anecdotal evidence to the contrary. I grew some Z6 x Harle_Tsu F2, and it always makes me tired if I vape it before bed. It could be that there is some THC in it as well. But what I can say is that it definitely DOES have CBD in it, because my ears always ring when I vape anything that is high CBD. It also gives you that floaty CBD body feeling too. One minute, I am thinking about how floaty I am feeling, and next thing I know, my alarm is going off.

I've heard of my friends eating CBD edibles, and then sleeping like a baby for 8 hours too. I'm not sure what the dosages were though. The good thing about vaping is that the onset is a lot faster, and the dosage necessary to have an effect is much less.

Studies showing cbd helping with insomnia revealed dosages of 150-500mg a day being helpful. Some people may still benefit from smaller doses. But really for most would need quite a bit, making cbd not very economically feasible for many.
I have trouble believing that study.
I know many people 100mg or less and find quality sleep. (One of those people, suffered from insomnia, and high THC did not help, CBD is like magic for her.)

Why because CBD has a calming/anti anxiety, effect. "Floaty" is good a description..... And that's enough aid for many people to fall asleep.

A very different thing than benzos, or many addictive sleeping meds. (Seditive drowse, do not operate machinery labeled)

I would like to know the study group? We're they all on Valium before starting the study? Lol

The study referred to people with actual insomnia needing the higher doses. Not talking about folks who may on occasion have a hard time falling asleep. Hence i said some folks might benefit from smaller doses. I left the comment earlier so people with actual insomnia taking small doses can be aware as to why its not helping them. So they dont dismiss cbd wholesale simply cause it didnt help them with the smaller doses.

As far as the study is concerned you are welcome to believe what you want.

Can you link the study please?
(Hope I did not miss it, as I am a heavy cannabis user..)

Sure thing brother,

Here is one on humans, https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/7028792.
Then there are a couple on rats as well.

The general understanding being peddled at the moment is lower cbd doses can even increase brain states that promote wakefulness.

I should add we should keep in mind the interaction of other compounds such as terpenes present in extracts, flowers, etc. Cannabinoid/terpenes like beta carophellene which are fairly common in many strain, which contribute to sedation and have there own incredible therapeutic effects, like pain relief. And of course not to forget a most common terp like myrcene.

The dosage for a good sleep depends on your physical and mental state, it must be counted individually. I used the dosage defined by a doctor and it helped me sleep like a baby
