The link doesn't work except cut-and-paste. But in medicine over 30 years and I cringe when I read this as well as people advocating using human shit. Some more great reasons to smoke your own.
well to be fair there is a difference between Urine and Feces. Nonetheless it makes no sense to use either for a cash crop with such a high value and the cost of ferts. Besides We all know that UREA is useless in hydroponics since it needs to break down to nitrates before plants can use it, which only works well in soil style culture.
if you shit or piss in your garden you shouldnt be growing, there are better product to get your nutrients from than "mother nature's filter", seriously wtf?

Any fresh high N source has no business pouring on plant roots, just as PurpleBuz said. Anything along these lines would be composted first. Broken down to basic elements and stored. It's just N at that point, not even Urea.
Also, I fully admit I have not read any studies in any regards in this matter, but I would think it unlikely that soil contaminated with e-Coli would propagate in the soil or be absorbed into the plant system through the roots. Certainly would like any link that has info on the matter, though.

Interestingly, the plants were infected even though contact was only through the roots. However, I consider it a lose-lose, win-win situation cos we buy organic fertilisers made from animals of whose origins we have no idea. I'm thinking its okay to get nitrogen from human urea (if its yours) as long as you're not growing a cash crop or inviting friends over to suck your d!(k. I haven't tried it but was just thinking that if you wanted complete stealth, you can't just go to your local store to get loads of plant nutrients. The good folks could unsuspectingly give you away to the pigs when they come asking seemingly innocent questions about the best farmers in the neighbourhood. Like I said, just a thought. Paranoia seems to be my normal state of mind (I live in a former soviet republic where you could get a longer sentence for growing bud than the other dude who massacred a family). I don't necessarily disagree with you but have you ever thought to ask your bud dealers exactly where, how and with what they grow your bud? Just a thought. Cheers!
