caregiver questions

how do you feel about telling your family that you're a primary caregiver? would it be better to avoid the point? since most adults don't understand its positive use yet, or better yet, refuse to.

i personally feel no guilt about it, but i also don't wanna hear about the assumed ulterior reasons that i'm doing something.

also, how do you feel about the pricing of your work? a lot of different elements go into the equation on making it all work, and the quality of the product as well. should it be based off each patient's personal needs? because some people may not be as eager to pay full price for quality goods, but money over medicine takes the compassion part out of it. greed over need? how can the balance be maintained without people feeling like they're being short changed?

Frothy, I have been dealing with the same problems. First off, about telling your family... I was pretty worried about both my immediate family and extended family. Most of my family is either anti cannabis (usually due to law) or just had a lot of misinformation on the subject and thought it to be evil (due to sources like "Reefer Madness" and Uncle Sam...). After spending the last two years researching cannabis online I had picked up quite a bit of information on what all this "weed" can do. After realizing how many of the worlds problems could be solved with one or more of the plants many forms, I began to spread the knowledge. It started with my significant other, and then my already pro-pot friends, and then my immediate family. So many conversations about cannabis kept coming up around me, and so many times I've had to use that knowledge gained over time to help correct those incorrect assumptions and misinformations. After just one or two conversations with people I was completly changing thier views on cannabis and helping them to understand what the "War on Drugs" was really about. To date I have turned my father, my significant other, and mother in law toward replacing their usual medications with Medical Marijuana. They all are currently awaiting appointments with their doctors for reccomendations. I am currently working on helping others to get started on the MM path. So I guess what I'm trying to say is just spread the knowledge the best you can and you'd be shocked at who may be influenced.
As far as what to charge your patients, I too am sooo uncertain on that. I would love to just give services away to those who are in need, but currently I am in the same boat as they are. I have until the end of the month to figure that one out since I will be an official caregiver by then, until then I will be contacting a few compassion clubs and collectives to figure out how everyone else seems to be running things. I hope you find all that you are looking for in your quest to spread the sacred herb. happy growing.

As far as talking to people about cannabis I have a simuliar experience to KayAreOennEyeSee, It helps to know the popular propaganda and the real truths - example the one that mj destroys brain cells - funny because it is actually the opposite. If any of your friends like to watch movies then get him/her some of the marijuana documentaries like 'The Union' or the other movies that are alike it.

Pricing, that is easy, I ask how he/she how much they smoke and provide them that amount free of charge, any extra then they must pay. I also keep them up to date about what is going on with their plants and things I could do to improve the situation of their plants and some are willing to donate money, items, or services. So you might be the 'caretaker' but really it should be a group effort if your giving them 100% free meds that they need. All of my patients are Family or so close that they are pretty much family so it is a little different in my situation thou
