Carbon Filter Scrubber For Closet Grow?

Hey I am currently growing 6 autoflowers in a 6x2 room with a 7f high ceiling. my concern is the indpending odor that will soon be engulfing my house and i was researching ways to handle this problem. i see people here promote Ona blocks but from what i can see that just covers up the smell with another smell the closet is in my room so i would like to minimize as much odor as i can. I do not have the option of using exhaust fans/ducting so i was looking into Carbon Scrubbers. my question is can a small 6inch homemade one with Computer Fans do the trick for my grow setup? if not then what would you suggest given my circumstances. if anyone has experience with this (reducing odor) or even just their honest opinion id love some help.

Hey Mind, I have the same issue as you with a small grow space and stealth is of great importance.

Several key things to consider about when it comes to smell and growing

Type of strain: some are just less smell than others (these are the ones you should be growing if your interested in trying to mask or hide smells)
Ozone scrubbers
Carbon Filters -these are the best way to get rid of smell but you must consider that you need ducting to run the air that is exhausted to somewhere else, it will be clean smelling air but you must still exhaust it. Also depending on the size of your filter you need enough CFM from an exhaust fan to draw the air through your filter and outside. If you are just running it out into your bedroom then you will be facing issues of recirculating the air in one room that will eventually cause problems in your grow area.
There are several silenecers and methods of reducing noise for these types of fans, several people wrap pillows or jackets etc around them as a cheap solution if you don't have the money or space for proper silencer built units.

Sorry but when it comes to smell you just have to dish out the cash for either a diy carbon filter and ducting system or store bought one, alternative is to grow outside where you don't need to worry about smell so much.

How are you venting the room now? You could use a quality carbon filter and fan to scrub the air in the closet but temps are gonna be killer in a space that isn't properly vented and CO2 is another factor. You could also use the same fan and filter combo to duct the spent air out of the room while a passive system draws in fresh air. I reccomend that second option as your 6 plants are gonna need CO2 and if your grow space is sealed pretty tight you're gonna choke em out. What exactly are you working with anyway, details help.

my first grow was in a closet what I did was seal off the whole doorway with black/white poly made then cut my entrance with those tarp zippers then put an intake on the bottom and an out port on the top(ports cut into poly no dmg to closet) for a 4" fan and my 4" phat filter worked great also run a crap ton of glade plugs just in case heh never had an issue

Thanks so much for all the replies. This is actually my second time growing, the first was two plants in the same closet area with no vents or anything just 400watt MH/HPS and a small ocuslating fan. i opened the doors 3 times a day atleast and left my room door open for new air to come in. I live in a state that doesn't allow this type of thing so outside grow is out of the question. for just two plants on my first grow and both bag seed i got over 150Grams and the plants where pretty healthy except for yellowing of leaves in last 2 weeks but i heard that was semi-normal. is there a small carbon filter scrubber (one that stands alone not hooked up and hanging) that i can put in my closet to eliminate the smell. i am aware it will just be cleaning recirculated air. I live with my father currently as i am 19 and in school with only a partime job so i dont have the option of drilling holes in my wall and setting up a nice intake and exhaust system or i would happily do so.

do you have any pictures or past grow journals where i could see your odor setup to get a better idea of how you made it?

Im working with some strong strains for my mothers fibromyalgia and nausea they include 3 Afghan Kush ryders, 1 white widow autoflower, 1 trans siberian autoflower and a Silver Kush photoperiod. my closet is a two door closet with about a inch of spacing between the surrounding area of the doors and the door frame. so lots of intake area. i saw something like this that i thought may work for my small grow let me know if you think this would work. also my temps always remain between 66F at night and between 75-82F in the day with lights on. im not so worried about temp especially since its winter.
